Haste The Day was a band I loved until I saw them live. First time in a seedy church on the bad side of town. Live they were lackluster and cliche', I was disappointed. Their fans became a mob right here on our site. Birds of a feather.
The next effort was thwarted by bad communications. I was ready to give the band a second chance but that blown, boom it was over. Haste The Day became a memory to me. Christian metalcore, the worlds most ridiculous musical category had better players, heavier hitters and bands just plain better presence.
It was no surprise then to hear HTD was calling it quits. The 'it factor' may have shown recorded but that's only half the battle. With fanatic fans, well no one likes a bully, not even a Christian. What does surprise me is the achingly slow death Haste The Day is having. Its like being in rock hospice, we really need to call in the musical Kevorkian. For months we have heard of their final days, we have been advised of their final album ever. Its almost the boy crying wolf already, if you're done- be done.
Wait before I die.. heres the album art. In a week or so there will be the track listing, the song leak and with enough metered morphine we can tough out the death of Haste the Day easily into 2012.
Pull the plug.
But cool cover.
