Funeral Party has a new video for their power-pop song ‘New York City Moves to the Sound of LA’. The music is dynamised by these famous cow bells and is moving as fast as the images showing a bunch of badass-hooligan kids wearing skeleton suits with painted faces, coming down to see the band play a concert in an underground location. There are also visions of holy statues and a disco-ball giant skull.
I saw the band at Amoeba a few months ago, and they were quite good on stage, bringing energy and life to their songs. The video was directed by Nathan Cox and with a line like ‘New York City loves to mess around with the LA sound, the LA sound’, I could not resist promoting this song again.
