From the opening thumps of bass there is no doubt that "Radar Love" is intoxicating. I would think that if there is a survey of the most popular steering wheel pounding song it would be this.
The drum is insane. Looking at this video is pretty darn funny, wow. Released in 1973, this was a one shot deal for the Dutch band. What a legacy though. Could there pants be any tighter? Just fyi I think I now own that jacket worn by lead singer, who I believe is Barry Hey. You have to adore the cheesy freeze pose at the start.
This shows you the power of the bass. Take away everything and if a song has a killer bass, its a win. The bass is the most primal of all thumps. This song can get you up and moving in a heartbeat based on the beat along. I'm not a big guitar solo 'face melt' type but proper bass is an amazing thing. This song is way too long, at almost six minutes its double what I can usually tolerate but once its on I'm hooked.
These guys supposedly still tour- they're too old for sure but hell some just cant let go. I would rather just keep them perpetually 1973.
