Lady Gaga being sued for her Japan wristbands

Remember the ‘We Pray For Japan’ wristbands Lady Gaga sold after the Japanese Earthquake? She put these on sale through her website for $5 just after the disaster, and claimed that all proceeds would directly go to Japan relief efforts.

Well, Gaga is now being sued by a Michigan legal network known as 1-800-LAW-FIRM, for allegedly profiting from the sales of these little bracelets. The lawsuit claims that the little monster kept part of the $5 that every customer paid for a wristband, and even inflated postage costs!! The shipping charge was $3.99, which seems exaggerated for a plastic wristband according to Alyson Oliver, a partner at 1-800-LAW-FIRM

The ‘claims include violation of the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act, conspiracy to violate RICO, violation of state consumer protection statutes and unjust enrichment’.

If she is guilty, Gaga is seeking for several types of damages, and will be asked to return all amounts paid for the products, plus interest, attorney fees and costs.

I have no idea if it is a legitimate lawsuit, and there are no words from the Gaga’s camp yet.

Iman Lababedi adds: From Haiti on, rock nyc have warned and warned tat giving to charities managed by rock stars is an excellent way to have your money stolen. Nobody things Lady Gaga is stealing money from a charity, but that she has no knowledge of who is doing what? That rock nyc believes.

After the Haiti disaster, we wrote post after post about the charities while the big boys were felating Bono and his band of merry idiots. We were proven right. Years later the money is still stuck in bank accounts.

Meanwhile, the asses at Rolling Stone woke up to the controversy this week. And yet somehow managed to laud Bono's One though it was proven that only 30% of the money raised GOES TO CHARITY. Bono has his reasons for that, still, it is hardly an exemplary charity.

But what does Wenner care, if him and McGuinness can get together and discuss next years Hall of Fame.

As Helen would say, meh.
