My Fave Tracks, Monday, June 27th, 2011

1. Rich Girls – Fitz And The Tantrums – Mike Fitz  may one day figure how to translate his exhilarating blue eyed dance music on to a record. But he didn't at daytrotter, and he hasn't here. This was a glorious singalong at Summerstage yesterday but nothing but a shrug on the album. He needs a real good dance producer, maybe Mark Ronson, to translate it.

2  You're A Friend Of Mine – Clarence Clemons And Jackson Browne – Of its moment, sure, but another reason to mourn the big man

3. Be So True – Total babes – Another teen romance slice of the most modern  rock on the block. Modern as in it sounds like it was recorded in their garage at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon with the sun pouring thru the garage door. A bright, sweet, sincere sound of longing.

4. Hot Fun Summertime – Sly And the Family Stone with Bootsy Collins –

5. Love You Like A Love Song – Selena Gomez – I hope she makes it back to Jungle Ball this year.

6. Bring The Light – Beady Eye

7. Sonatina In D Minor – Another Earth Soundtrack Really lovely piano deep melody.

8. 1+1 – Beyonce

9. Untold Stories  Buju Banton – Off his masterpiece, 'Til Shiloh.

10. Honey Dove – Lee Fields And The Explorers – The opposite of Fitz, his dark brooding soul songs work better on record.
