My Fave Tracks, June 2011

1. 1+1 – Beyonce – This song is so good that even The Dream's original demo is better than most things you'll hear this year. Now I'm used to it, the hook is self-evident Dream, the way it twists on the last word of each line. But Beyonce sells it completely.

2. Pause – Pitball – Missed the meeting where these guy became the hottest rapper on earth? Not if you've been reading rock nyc. This is a great hard dance with soupcon of merengue in the beat. The new album is terrific as well.

3. How To Love – Lil Wayne – Excellent soul ballad, sometimes I forget Weezy is a real singer. The beat is the hook as well, listen to the two beats then triple time then back to three beats.

4. Bang Bang Bang – Selena Gomez And the Scene – Star making turn by the Disney sitcomer.

5. Go Out And Get It – Black Lips – Best song off the new album is power-punk-pop rock.

6. The Time I Saw Jupiter – Fall On Your Sword – Not actually released yet so this electronic mood music may show up next month as well.

7. Donald Trump – Mac Miller – I hate it the first time round but that "ain't that SUM shit" will get you in the end.

8. Axel Rose – Art Brut – From May actually but -the intro sounds just like "Public Image Ltd."

9. Moon In The Water – Dawes – Soft rock

10. TMZ – "Weird Al" Yankovic – Should be further up the list as it makes an excellent case against celebrity stalking.
