I love cymbals. Played really really fast its so cool, one of my favorite sounds.
So begins "Expanding Anyway" , a song by Morning Telportation. What the hell kind of music is this and I'm curious if Tiny Tim had a son and if so is lead singer "Tiger", him? What a unique tone. Borderline horrific, but it actually works. When the gang joins in on the chorus its a happy night at your local. I can hear the crowds singing along already. Its fast and fun and babbling.
The fantastic drum/cymbal work by "Shimmy Shimmy" ( I swear to God its hipster holiday) sorta opened the door to a song that I would otherwise would have taken a pass on. The entire band and vocals made me stay. I started with the intent of bashing these guys as Indie flip flop beard wearers. I cant, its just far too fun and exhausting. Best part is I have no idea where this song came from,. It may be from some obscure compilation I've acquired but the song is actually from the album of the same name. Theyre touring, playing the Mountain Jam in NY and the Iron Horse in North Hampton and all the other stops where the lattes' are steaming and the beatiniks are beating. But I will tip my hat that this song is good not fabulous not "omg' worthy, but rather a really interesting and new vibe coming out of my speakers.
I did not see a photo or the video prior to writing this review had I things would have been much different.
Hipsters, wanna be artsy hippy freaks… ughk… should have never looked. Gross.
