s it too perfect to be true? Gothamist is reporting that Lady Gaga and Madonna are related! But before you become too excited, and you go on a series of hallelujah-this-explains-everything, the-universe-makes-completely-sense, they are only really distant cousins.
This is what celebrity genealogist Chris Child (is there such a thing?) told Boston Globe:
‘They are ninth cousins once removed. When I saw that Lady Gaga had French Canadian ancestry I thought there might be something there.’ He managed to trace the ‘relations of Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone and Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta back to a French immigrant farming couple who came to Quebec in the 1600s.’
What? A French immigrant? Not even an Italian? But I am not that impressed, at this level we are almost all related. And if this gives any validation to Gaga to be a Madonna clone, may be Mr. Child should work harder and find her some connection with another celebrity, a little less expected,… They are both such a bore anyway.
