Reality 86'd: On The Road With Black Flag

Well then…

This sorta makes me happy, a  Black Flag documentary 'Reality 86'd" is streaming  and if you were a Flag fan or aspire to be, you must see this.  The film was made during the 1986 "In My Head" tour.  I swear this is an amazing time capsule.  One of the best parts is the incredible sound quality.  Most videos of this time are a warbled mess.  This is an amazing production of an 8mm field trip

This one hour funsicle features shenanigans and live performances from Black Flag, Painted Willie, and Gone (later of the Rollins Band) . David Markey was along for the entire trip as the drummer / singer / documentarian for Painted Willie filming the six month tour as it happened.  Fair warning there are some extremely long song intros.

This video is a great showing of just how narcisstic we 80s kids were.  I swear what obnoxious dirt bags.  I think back to these days (and for the record- this is not Black Flags height of cool, this is when they went a bit metal core if you ask me) and can easily remember what an ass I was.  Great footage, amazing band, fun times indeed.  Go grab a glass of Kool Aid and some pretzels and watch this one.

I would loved to have embedded it for you right here but Vimeo is a whore- you have to buy them to get them embedded (get it? that was sort of a bad pun..)
