Dylan is 70, and he is in the cover of the LAWeekly this week,… as a cake! A white cake with a chocolate Bob head.
The Weekly actually asked Kate Steffens, who is a specialist in rock’ n' roll cakes, to bake this one at her 'Straight Outta Chocolate' enterprise in Echo Park.
This is how Kate describes her work:
‘I specialize in high quality, hand-painted chocolate pieces, often used to top cakes. While any picture can successfully be reproduced in chocolate, I choose to stick with what inspires me most: music. Thus, Straight Outta Chocolate: edible interpretations of album covers and musicians.
All orders are custom and one-of-a-kind.
All rock stars are 100% chocolate and 100% edible. I never use fondant because I find it to be like edible play-doh, tasteless and unpalatable.
Chocolate pieces are custom made to order.’
