The Streets noted on "When you Wasn't Famous" that when you become famous, getting girls becomes so easy that you becomes an asshole and when you try and date a girl who is always famous, you revert bag to prefame days.
It has the sound of a truth, right (he can't write em like that any more) and goes some way in explaining why so many rock stars are assholes… it is fame of course, but also money.
If rock nyc went from being what it is to being a multimillion conglomerate, I would be go from being a fair to middling bloke to an asshole. I would be suddenly convinced that I know what the fuck i am talking about and would swank around giving advise to rock st… oh, wait I already do so. but worse.
Money makes you a fool -it makes you think you know a secret and you don't.
So rock stars are assholes because they are rich and all rich people are assholes. Period. If you are rich you can't be nice to anybody but people who are as rich or richer than you are.
And if you are famous you can't be nice to anyone who is as or more famous than you are. You can be condescending to those on the cusp because, what if they make it big? (Oh, and their drug dealer)
So the answer to this questions is yes.
BUT it could be worse because they could be all of the above and politicians. I mean, at least rock stars have cool jobs.
