Join us on Thursday May 12, 2011 at 7pm in the Library of the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen of the City of New York for our new cultural series, Muse & Music. Endeavoring to go beyond the mechanics of writing a song, the aim of Muse and Music is to have the artist discuss the trade, craft or passion that touches their muse and inspires their music.
Our performer will be Brooklyn-based alternative country band Maynard and the Musties. Book smart songwriter Joe Maynard along with his fellow bandmates will entertain and inform with their unique country style and eclectic Brooklyn flavor.
Guest host Iman Lababedi, rock critic and editor of www.rocknycliveandrecorded.com, will lead a discussion with Joe and the band to explore the inspiration for their music.
