Billabong's Charity Concert, Design For Humanity

The clothing line Billabong has a charity called Design For Humanity, which will benefit this year The VH1 Save the Music Foundation. The foundation is ‘dedicated to restoring instrumental music education programs in US public school, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education’.

Beside selling tee-shirts, Billabong is organizing a concert on June 15th, in the legendary NY Street Backlot at Paramount Studios, the place where so many TV shows and films have been produced.
And the line-up? First there will be a fashion show, Billabong obliges, then, the omnipresent (as it seems these days) but always entertaining Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros will headline the event.

Disco house from New York’s The Hundred In The Hands will open the night and there will also be Hanni el Khatib and his raw blues-garage-rock tunes.

The tickets are on sale for $30, but there is also a VIP ticket at $99 which includes an ‘access to VIP street party including free booze, free hit + run custom screen-printed t-shirt, Chipotle burrito bar, mingle with the models, artists and the beautiful people’, whatever this means.
