Cove Reber, cool name, cool dreads, cool all around dude.
Former front man for Saosin, was unceremoniously dumped awhile back. Saosin is a weird band, they're like the cousin who cant keep a girl. There was always a friction, and today I can say thank you
Saosin I'm so glad you dropped Cove he didn't belong with you.. Your hardcore sound is dated and you never really did make it past your "Seven Years" days, its been a long 8 or is it 9 years that you've been around? How many personnel changes? Doesn't matter… Coves voice is better utilized in his new endeavor.
Cove didn't pout he up and got moving with his new band Patriot and today I head one of the coolest most refreshingly different songs Ive heard in awhile. "I Found My Way", takes us in a nearly psychedelic direction. Reminds me of Iron Butterflys In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. OK its a bit of a stretch it could well just be the baseline or the distortion but I'm really excited about this sound. Its a hazy smokey sort of sexy basement. So different but very familar.
Cove is a blog man, here are his words
"Here’s a little bit of info on the song Joey, Kyle and myself put out today. I Found My Way is a track that started as a late night riff idea Joey had and wanted to lay down so we didn’t lose it forever. First came the guitar riff that loops the entire song, then came the bass. The next day my buddy Kyle Rosa stopped by, heard the song once then tracked drums. Vocals were a combined effort from Joey and I. I’d like to thank Beau Burchell for polishing this turd into something that is audibly stimulating. My tracks have come a long way Sensei. As for what I’m doing now… Joey, Kyle and I have been working on a project we are calling Patriot. We are currently demoing songs for our record."
I love it
