Time Travel! Back To April, 2009 and 2010

Two years ago, I went to see Glenn Tilbrook. Yes, opre, but only only just, rock nyc. Here is what I was listening to August 2009

1. Best of Times – Glenn Tilbrook – His best song since  prime Squeeze, is also his most honest and funniest as he rushes his  wife to the hospital to have her baby.

2. C Is The Heavenly option – Heavenly – TWEE!!!! Great song, Los camp did a perfect cover but I love the original as well.

3. You're The Cream In My Coffee – Hal Davis –  American standard, great use the of word neccessity.

4. Love Sex Magic – Ciara – Also? Timberlake's best moment in half a decade.

5. Little Bug – The Spring Standards – real good opening for Glenn but this was all they had…

6. First We Take Manhattan – Lenoard Cohen – Great song and I was preping for the concert at the time. PS I would later be shocked to discover that every single reader I had wished I was dead -guess that's what you get for messing with Cohen.

7. Oh, What A Beautiful Morning – James Taylor – A little draggy, but, whtever, it is OK!

8. Poker Face – Lady Gaga – Yup, two years ago.

9. Beyond here Lies Nothing – Bob Dylan – First single off the upcoming album. I was wondering if the album it would be a masterpiece in rock nyc. It wouldn't

10. Get It In Ohio – Cam'ron – The Diplomat at the top of his game.

2010: A year later rock nyc had grown by leaps and bounds and I had begun to take it seriously as more than just another way to speak to myself (it took me forever to realize people actually read it)

1. Tel 'Em – Sleigh Bells – Best song on their fabulous debut. I thought it'd sell more

2.No Surprises – Regina Spektor – Surprise, a radiohead cover.

3. Riley – Corin Tucker – Best song off an album still months away.

4. Airplanes – B.o.B. – Then try and get away from it.

5. Live Until I Die – Wesley Wolfe – Off his side of a cassette.

6. Beamer, Benz And bentley – Lloyd banks – Took awhile, but emerged as major.

7. He Ded For You – Spider Bags – Classic McGee off an Odessa  comp

8. Say My Name – Holy Ghost! – Powerful disco mixed up bass heavy but keyboards never left alone.

9. Massive Nights – the Hold Steady – They are playing T5 on Friday, and I'm thinking, I'm thinking.

10. Plundered My Soul – The Rolling Stones – I got caught up in the hype. Not bad but not major.
