Rihanna has been advised to cancel her Arena tour due to lack of sales.
I saw her at MSG last year and thought she was fun but nothing special. Still, the problem here isn't really with her not selling tix, 3500 tix would sell out the beacon a coupl times, it is with her not selling out ARENAs.
The other problem is, Rihanna wants to put on (she actually does put on) a spectacle. And she can't do that at a Beacon Theater.
So she is fucked between ambition and sales.
Cold War Kids just moved their gig from Radio City to T5, I see no reason why Rihanna shouldn't dump the special effects and scale back into smaller 2000 – 5000 seaters,
