1. I'd Love To Be Your Last – Gretchen Wilson – I know. I'm shocked as well. A song worthy of Karen Carpenter by a country singer who, while a bit of an original,, has never done it for me. The middle eight could be a touch sharper but that's it. Great song.
2. Caffeinated Consciousness – TV On The Radio – Brilliantly constructed song.
3. Post Break-Up Sex – The Vaccines – Not bad though it sounds like something else I've heard. And it's not the Smiths.
4. I'm Not A Young Man Anymore – The Velvet Underground – That riff is unreal -it is just awesome, and the guitar solo? This is genius.
5. "…And Ever" – Titus Andronicus – I quoted this on FB and everybody thought I was dying: "I'm worthless and weak, I'm sick and scared and the enemy is everywhere". Words to live by even if the spoken word outro denies it.
6.Sixteen Shades of Black And White- Fujiya and Miyagi -Not what you think
7. Singularity – Bright Eyes
8. American Squirm – Nick Lowe – And rockpile
9. Should Have – Cloud Nothings
10. Run Run Run – the Velvet Underground – Off the Gymnasium boot (Nessing had it) -this is 1966?
