Why its that time of year again when the snow melts and you cant help but thing spring and summer are on the way. Summer means one thing- Warped Tour.
The time is now to enter your band to be considered to play the Ernie Ball Stage at your local Warped. Imagine the exposure you can get just playing the parking lot of Americas best ‘rock and roll summer camp’. You wait in insane lines as bands play, you enter to 5+ stages and you as voting public can chose who gets up there.
I am all for supporting local music. I throw down my dough to do it every chance I can. I try to catch the opening act for the shows I cover and write them up so they too can get some kind words. I wont slam a local band. I will offer them advice though. I approached a band that I would have fully supported to mention in this post.
Gratitude wasn’t there so wooops, their name disappears. Here is a lesson to the little guy. Be happy and appreciative for any mentions you may get on ANY level. This business is brutal you need all the support you can get. So my local search continues- who shall I support for Warped Tour Hartford and Boston? No clue, but I will do so.
I’m telling you you HAVE to support local bands. Unless you want a life filled with cookie cutter auto tune you have to seek them out listen and support. This is a great way to do that.
