Squeeze-a-versary…

1974, Chris Difford placed an advert in a shop window ‘lyricist seeks musician for co-writing’ Glen Tillbrook answered the ad. The pair went on to form Squeeze.

And aren’t we glad they did.  Squeeze has to be one of the coolest bands of all and today is the bands semi sorta anniversary.  Its only fitting that we pay tribute to Tillbrook and Difford for the amazing harmonies and unique sound.  Funny I really thought they started up before ’74 but nope.  March 1, 1974 makes it official.

Just yesterday I quoted the song from the below video “legs up with a book and a drink” again out of context is one of the best visual lyrics of my time.  Squeeze were great on the domestic front, “I put away a tenner, each week to make her better”.  But they always ended up a mess at the end.

Meh, maybe that’s their appeal. Regardless a small shout out to Squeeze.  Thanks Glen for answering that ad.
