Billy Corgan: ‘Trump Is A Good Thing!’

I can’t stand Billy Corgan, but when Billy talks about someone I hate even more, my head is spinning! The Smashing Pumkins frontman recently talked about the Donald by praising his despicable attitude… Why Billy? Weren’t you hated enough already?

‘I think what’s cool, and I’m not saying I agree politically, but I think what’s cool is Trump’s running chaos theory,’ said Corgan during a VIP Q&A in Cincinnati

‘He’s forcing a lot of things out into the open, so they can’t control this, whatever that control is. It’s like the music business: Everybody gets controlled, and somebody comes along that fucks it all up.’

‘I think it’s good that he’s fucking it up, because whether or not he’s the guy, obviously the political class doesn’t want him there. It’ll open it up to a bigger dialogue.’

He continued;

‘Whether anybody agrees or not, the rating on that debate was 24 million. It was eight times higher than the first Republican debate of the last cycle. It was highest non-sports related cable rating of all time. That means people are engaged, I would argue at this point is there any difference between politics and entertainment?’

Except that this is not a game? People are not engaged politically, it’s ridiculous, everyone is watching because everyone is always up for a good circus show! And comparing the US presidency to the music business is an irresponsible thing to do, as the position comes with way more responsibilities than running a business, even a big one. Corgan treats Trump as if he were a punk hero, doesn’t he see he is running for his own interests? Trump is not a rebel, he is the most conservative guy on the planet and it’s not because he is currently on a high that he is our savior, he is rather the bull in a china shop, making more damage every time he readjusts his toupee. And if more ‘rockstars’ like Corgan continue to support his sad game, the consequences are gonna be huge.
