Ben Morfitt

This is totally great in a completely funny and narcissistic way! A 24-year-old guy from Yorkshire has made this crazy video of himself singing and playing every single instrument of this 70-piece orchestra. These days, we can do so much with a computer and a lot of talent!

According to the Daily Mail, Ben Morfitt played 9 instruments and used his computer to make it look like he was playing each person in the orchestra. He basically filmed himself 70 times in his bedroom, playing each instrument or singing a part, in front of a green screen. You have to realize that Ben is a very talented guy, who not only can play all the instruments, but has excellent computer skills. iI was a drummer for ten years then I started picking up other instruments out of boredom.’ He declared to the Daily Mail. ‘It was only the last three or four years that I’ve really been collecting instruments.’

It took him a month to put the thing together, and you can appreciate the amazing result below. He said he found percussion to be the easiest of all the instruments he played (cell, violin, drums, flute, French horn, trumpet…) while ‘the violin has taken me the longest to get to a comfortable level at,’ Of course he also filmed himself as the conductor of the orchestra, and he gets a bit over enthusiastic, but that’s all right.

He had the idea for a while, but just recently made the video, and the most impressive part of all this is that Morfitt did everything by himself, with no help at all…He composed, played and recorded the music and then put the video together, totally alone. And if you think this guy wasn’t talented enough, well he also composed this musical this piece for a cartoon called Pegul that he co-created…
