A ziploc bag of air, captured during a Kanye West Yeezus show, was on sale on eBay and got 90 bids with the highest at $60,100.00 according tooth’s screenshot. I let you ponder this for a few minutes…. If this demonstrates anything, it demonstrates two things: that a lot of stupid people are really buying the Kanye hype and that that this bag may be the symbol of Kanye West’s greatest accomplishment… when you can sell air to people, you may have reached the apotheosis of success?
The eBay user Stangeedon1 didn’t even prove he actually attended the concert, he simply explained how he collected the air: ‘Held bag open and sealed air in,’ he wrote in the description. Since, the item has been removed and it is unclear if a transaction has been made or if it was taken down by eBay. However, many copy cats have appeared with a few other plastic bags for sale, although they don’t seem as successful as this one was, and this one seems to go even a bit further, and that’s simply gross!
For me this item is really symbolic, an empty bag with just a Kanye label on it going for such a high price? Isn’t it the perfect metaphor for Kanye’s art? Hype and emptiness everywhere? Just read the talk he gave at Oxford the other day! This guy has a serious case of ADD and I am not even sorry to say that his discourse is as empty as this bag… here are a few samples:

I rest my case, this doesn’t make any damn sense like the whole talk that you should read here, he is talking about everything that goes through his head and the resulting verbal diarrhea is so catastrophic I actually think his mental disease is more serious than I thought… nevertheless he is invited at the prestigious Oxford university to give a talk…everyone buys the Kanye hype so expect much more of this stupid stuff on eBay…
