Rob Zombie was one of the coolest dudes Id ever met. I realize now that its all an act but he really is a talented guy. That whole shock and gore bit is a sham but its good for scoring coin and he has a family to feed. As a fellow resident of Connecticut I know how expensive living in New York’s bedroom can be. So good for him but don’t be fooled. That grime and grit is strategically placed. He’s a businessman and an artist- and a damn good con man.
Teaming up with Bret Easton, the brain behind “American Psycho” Zombie is off to fulfill the childhood intrigue of the Manson Family. Oh you remember good ol’ Charlie Manson? The fearless leader of hippy outcasts and the killer of a handful of folks, who sits happily in California prison with a stick and poke tattoo of a swastika on his head.
Fascinating as cults and killings are- Manson has become somewhat lame. He never ate the dead or even fucked them. He got people to kill a couple b grade celebs for him and he liked the Beatles.. big deal. I don’t see anywhere in court documents that he stored their genitalia in a freezer or made lamps out of them.
But hey he was a wacko and the orgy’s and acid added a fun element to his Ranch of outcasts. But it has also been over exposed Im not quite sure what can be added to it other than shock embellishment to make it the slightest bit interesting. A story told too many times- and without enough atrocity. How sad is that when the killing of innocents isn’t ‘enough’ to warrant attention anymore? Lets get this straight too- Manson did nothing but conspire and convince others to do as he said. He is a leader and a genius. At age 79.. he can only be lifted to icon (and sorta already has)
“I have been obsessed with this insane story since I was a kid, so obviously I jumped at the chance to be involved in this incredible project. After speaking with Bret, I immediately realized that we shared the same vision for this epic madness,” Zombie says.
Zombie is a hoax Easton is pretty rad and together they’ll create a straight to DVD story of an old man who had great power over weak teenagers.
Blah.
