We here at rocknyc love The Moms and are forever grateful for drummer Donny Saraceno’s road report on their last tour. There was a great sense of ‘being there’ as we heard of odd sleeping conditions and how much cheese one can buy at a Walmart to feed an entire band. These guys are the rock and roll dream and without massive bankroll and fat corporate backing they don’t give up and they keep getting better.
There is a part of me that conjures up angry Fall Out Boy upon hearing the title track. I am in no way saying they’re the same as our Chicago anthem makers but I am saying The Moms are the spirit of FOB when they still had nothing to prove. Pure heartfelt lyrics, great melody and beat and enough cute to grab a few fan girls along the way.
Pairing up with Paper + Plastick Records a four song EP is nothing but a appetizer course for the album due out later this spring. They say 3 of these songs are ‘b’ sides, but I am unsure b to what…but it’s new music and that’s all you should care about.
“The Kids Can’t Lose 5th Anniversary Tour” is their support and should not be missed. Along with A Loss For Words ,VEARA City Lights and Pvris The Moms are sure to win over new fans and make new friends- theyre that cool.
