American Idol Auditions Part 2, Watching the Wash Dry -By Mary Magpie

American Idol is barely about the singing anymore.

Bringing in Randy Jackson’s life story- and his old football coach?  Then going on and saying the state’s flower and animal?

Come on and just get the auditions going.

The people who were passed through with a golden ticket deserved it- they were mediocre and average, which is good because American Idol is a mediocre show.  And the first couple seasons, the goofy auditions that were to be funny and give judges a laugh were cute, amusing.  But now?  They’re annoying, attention-hungry attempts to throw their faces on the TV for a couple of seconds.
That fifteen year old, however blew my mind.  I had no idea that they lowered the age requirement, but wow he has a good voice.  The only audition that stood out, really.  But I think that if an older man sang the same way, same song, I wouldn’t be saying this.  His talent at such a young age is astounding- especially since it’s not autotuned or edited.
Needless to say, it was a relatively boring, unmotivational, uncaptivating American Idol audition episode.

But let’s see what the season brings.
