A dramatic event occurred last Thursday, as Alex Kirst was found dead in Cathedral City near Palm Springs, victim of a hit and run accident.
He was the former drummer for the Nymphs, an alternative rock band of the 80-90s and a member of Iggy Pop’s band. He also co-composed all songs on ‘Beat ‘Em Up’, a 2001 Iggy Pop album. He was hit by a car and was found dead lying along the side of Date Palm Drive late in the evening, and the police is saying that there is no evidence that the driver of the car even made an attempt to stop and check on Kirst’s condition. They are now hoping that other drivers or residents have spotted the car, as the vehicle may have front-end and headlights damage.
