Alot of people have resolutions. Shit they’re going to do or stop doing starting right now today.
What I don’t get is why the hell you need a new calendar to do it right. You can start 2 weeks on a Tuesday from now just the same, but its symbolic and so that’s cool.
I strive on a personal level to be more tolerant and patience cuz I have no patience and no tolerance at all. Been a long time with this one……cupboard is still bare.
The year in review?
rocknyc-wise was pretty cool. I got to see some amazing bands, meet some of them. Started a press pass collection and made sure to thank everyone along the way. I’m courteous at the least.
I personally have dedicated alot of time to this ‘little blog of perpetual nervousness’ and I plan to continue doing so.
I plan on improving it.
If there is one thing Iman and I have in common as ‘editors’ its our complete belief in this project. To some its a casual glance. To he and I its a job and a commitment. The writers I’m sure feel the same and I cant thank them enough for always coming through. We set these goals of 20 posts a day 15 on weekends and holidays. Its insane. A volume for a staff so small its amazing we’re able to do it.
A labor of love.
We have gotten alot of praise we have gotten alot of hate and we have gotten the attention of some very great people.
From Billy Zoom of X (Jesus god I still babble at that one) to that sassy beast Andy Six of Black Veil Brides. Thanks for stopping in guys, you’re way cool.
And others sitting all Anonymous- thanks for that too…cept when you behave as proper douche bags. Actually, even when they’re proper douche bags its still funny.
So then aside from reaching greater audiences and improving our quality as an ongoing mission..whats my goal?
My fucking goal is to actually sit down (or stand) and freaking speak to Alesana this year.
For over a year I have been scrambled about by their “people”, from the folks at Fearless Records to the publicist with no name
Enough already.
Alesana plays this area 3 times a year and is THE ONLY band I have
yet to successfully book time with and its pissing me off.
They’re being reduced to ‘side stage’ at venues cuz they cant sell enough tickets yet their folk wont allow the local the 10 min needed to up their press?
WTF?
So my goal.. 10 min with Milke and Lee. I mean it.
Other than that just the regular world peace and domination shit.
