It becomes increasingly difficult to find something “new”. I listen to primarily punk, hardcore and screamo and I ain’t gonna lie.
There isn’t much variation.
But there is great bands and horrible bands and this year, I saw alot of crap.
I have taken on the same approach as other writer here that there really is no reason to slam an up and coming band for either poor performance or just plain being weak.
Keep working on it and move along. We aren’t here to break a dream.
I do though believe there are certain bands who deserve end of year greatness status.
Although these bands may have been around for awhile in one form or another they’re new to me. As The Magpie wrote the bands she discovered, I can do the same. We didn’t discover these for the world, but we discovered them for myself for the first time this year.
I am personally very glad I did.

5. Four Letter Lie. Saw these kids with We Came As Romans and have been begging them to come back to New England ever since.
4. Black Veil Brides Cute kids with big voices and some pretty sassy showmanship. Greater live than recorded
3. The Casualties- also listed on my tops shows of 2010. Punk Rock, pure as the driven snow.
2. My Eyes Fall Victim- discovered 3 days ago. Like a miracle they renew my battery. Great Great stuff .. more please
1. Mr Spoon. Holy God! Go find them, shake them, throw them on a plane and get them here NOW so I can see them live. I cant explain the raw perfection- listen for yourself.

Funny, my top 2 have the silliest band names of all times but I absolutely cannot wait for more from them.
2011 looks bright cuz of these guys.
