At 100 Club on Wednesday night Ron Wood and Mick Taylor played a blues based rock set in support on the punk Mecca facing closing, London’s 100 Club.
The former and current Rolling Stone guitarists playing together for the first time, is the definition of a once in a lifetime experience.
Mick Taylor’s tenure with the Stones is misunderstood entirely. Taylor, if not central, was certainly pivotal to the hard rock sound of Exile On Mainstreet and Sticky Fingers. Taylor wrote “Sway”. I saw Taylor play at the Bottom Line in the 1990s and was blown away. Shame the Glimmer twins picked his pocket.
Ron Wood is sober. Enough said?
