Edward Sharpe’s Itunes Session -by Alyson Camus

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros have recorded a new Session of six-songs on iTunes, featuring unique versions of some of their popular songs from their debut album ‘Up From Below’, and a previously unrecorded song ‘Fire & Water’.

This is the complete iTunes Session which was recorded at EastWest Studio, Los Angeles:

1            Up From Below
2            Janglin’
3            40 Day Dream
4            Fire & Water
5            Brother
6            Desert Song

Fire & Water is a trippy-folky-hippie tune, beginning with Jade’s piercing and strong voice, then pursuing with several outbursts of piano, trumpets and layered vocals. It sounds strangely familiar like a classic of the 70’s or a lost psychedelic tunes of the mid 60’s. It reminds the Woodstock area, Jefferson Airplane and curiously could sound like an extremely slowed down version of ‘Volunteers’

They previously performed the song at a myspace secret show, that you can watch it here:
