The first single from PJ Harvey’s “Let England Shake” is available on Sound cloud to stream. “Written on The Forhead”, is the first PJ Harvey song I have ever heard.
Its like bad Siouxie. That same sort of surreal angelic float.
Theres a junk load of stuff going on in the back ground. Yet the repetition makes it nearly torture to hear. I would have to say I wish I could like this too, but I cant.
I don’t consider this enjoyable at all. Her tone is too high, the rhythm to swaying.
Its the sort of song playing at Starbucks or the independent book shop on the corner.
Its annoying.
I may seem negative alot but you have to admit I keep trying. This whole art rock thing is sorta where I think a person of my age should be. Seriously I don’t belong in mosh pits.
But its almost as if succumbing to this ‘auditory hell’ would cash in my soul.
So lets put this in a nutshell shall we
1- She has Siouxie tones at times
2- The song is so repetitive its insane
3- One of the background guys sounds like Strummer
4- this sucks
I wont give up though, I will continue to listen til I figure out why on Earth any of you like this.
