Have you been to an Apple store lately? I went to one yesterday afternoon as I had a problem with my iPod, and it is Beatles, Beatles, Beatles everywhere.
It was expected, true, but still I was amazed and wanted to hang around longer. There were life size cardboard cutouts of the Fab Four in the window (the same black and white picture figures on apple.com), and they were so attractive I heard a woman asking someone to take a picture of her in front of them! All the screens of the computers in display were showing the same Beatles picture, all the iPods were loaded with their music, Revolver was playing in the store, and all the Apple people were wearing an ID tag printed on the cover of Abbey Road.
Yes, they celebrate! Beatlemania as if they could not believe it,… yeah they got the Beatles! And it is tempting, Beatles iTunes gift cards are everywhere, for $50, $100, just in time for Christmas.
Meanwhile, the Beatles are dominating the UK and US single and album charts, after just two days, they had three albums in the iTunes top 10, and 55 songs among the top 200! So there were still people who did not have Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely hearts club, the White album or Abbey road? I don’t understand what the big deal is about, The Beatles had been in my iTunes since,… CDs have existed!
But it is a just return to the sources since the Beatles once owned an Apple boutique in London (an expansion of their Apple company), which closed in 1968. How strangely things turned out sometimes.
