My Chemical Romance is streaming their newest album Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys on their YouTube, and I was both excited and nervous when I heard the news. I didn’t want to be disappointed, but I’m anything but.
“Sing” is absolutely fantastic. It’s catchy and Gerard’s voice has matured so much. Also, the lyrics seem more…deep. They feel as if they mean more. It’s either the setup of the song or they really are different. Either way, I love it.
“Planetary (GO)” is probably my favourite tune. It’s so upbeat and pop-like and just makes you want to jump around. My Chemical Romance has taken a turn, for sure, and one for the better.
“The Only Hope For Me” proves that MCR has definitely become a much more pop-rock based band. They’ve also seemed to discover the power that just a teensy bit of techno brrings. This beautiful song is totally perfect.
“Save Yourself” is so insanely good. My Chem’s done it again. This album is completely flawless. Especially this song- it’s so well put together.
My Chemical Romance is not the same band they were a few years ago. They’ve grown up, gone out, and exceeded my expectations. One of the most genius, lovely albums I’ve heard in a while.
So, if you have an extra hour on your hands, check this masterpiece out:
