Dan Aquilante On Michael Jackson: The Dumb Leading The Dead

Am I unfair to New York Post’s Dan Aquilante? God, I hope so. A week ago I refrained from laughing myself sick at Dan’s comparing Cee Lo to Barry White fronting Sly and The Family Stone. I mean despite, the band sound like a Motown house band not Sly Stone’s embryonic funk, and White being a basso while Cee Lo is a wide ranging but essentially soprano-mezzo, the comparison is.. well, I don’t know what it is.
Anyhow, Dan is at his best when it comes to MJ and here is the guy’s review of the really dull, slow and pathetic Akon song. “the King of Pop is back on the throne. The song, available for a taste test at michaeljackson.com, is a duet with hip-hop singer Akon. It’s a love song that isn’t kissy-kissy mush, but instead explores the power of love and how it can inspire ordinary people to do great things. Jackson, who died in June 2009, begins by singing, “This life don’t last forever” — a warning not to waste time on hate. This is a lush, polished cut worthy of the Jackson legacy”
Wow, this is stupidity of a high order. this isn’t garden variety Jonah Weiner/Austin Scaggs lies and fluff, this is tone deaf, brain riddled senility at work. The good news? Now that “This Is It” didn’t,as predicted by Dan, become his best selling single ever, or even reach # 1, the chances of anybody actually believing this crap are minimal.
One more thing, Dan. Usually, when people die? They automatically abdicate the throne.
