Call me a cynic, call me what you will, but this quote from Dave Grohl in the Sun “We have decided to record our new album at my house – in the garage actually. It’s working out really well. I can get my kids up in the morning. I can’t wait to get them out of bed and get them going to school for the day. Sometimes I do some housework, a bit of vacuuming and dusting… then I go down to my garage and go to work. We make some heavy music. The good thing about making an album in the house is come 6.30 in the evening the kids are having dinner and I get to be there and give them baths and read them stories before they go to bed. Once they go to bed I can go back to the garage and keep on trucking.” left me wondering a couple of things.
a) When Grohl says “Garage” does he really think we believe he wakes up, drives his Chevy Pick Up on to the curb, move the garbage cans out of the way and plug the amp into the socket?
or
b) When he says Garage he is being intentional fake and good guy-ey and indeed, his garage is more like a floor level recording studio?
and if so
c) why is he lying to the public?
You got me. But I don’t believe a fucking word whether or not I have heard, from people one degree of separation away from Grohl, what a good guy he is.
