Neil Diamond, Dreams Come True By Helen Bach

Neil Diamond?
What the hell is this?
Its a pretty head cocked review from your resident hardcore editor.
Sit down shut up and listen.
Neil got a bad rap, old housewives winging their enormous underwear at the poor thing, that whole “Coming To America” crap.. Mr Diamond became a joke among the cool .
Elevator music? meh, “Lounge Act”, meh..
But the dude has more staying power and more pinky rings than a Brooklyn Don.
So we welcome “Dreams”, Neils next release due out on November 2.
So what is it?
Some pretty cool remakes of some rather historic songs including “Blackbird” and “Ain’t No Sunshine” and a really slowed down of the song he wrote and gave to the Monkees, almost lullaby of “I’m a Believer”.
I will not kid you it got me a bit choked up.  Really pretty stuff.
I will say that “Alone Again(Naturally)  sucks as no song should ever suck recorded.  Just ff that dog.
“Love Song”, kicks ass and his voice is fantastic in it.  The piano has a nice hollow feel to it as well, and better yet BONGO’s!  “Hallelujah” was made for his voice.
“Yesterday” is done respectfully and reverently.  Mad props for that one, its beautifully done.  He sounds sorta drunk and pathetic, I dig it he sounds a mess.  All shaky like a 2 pack night with a bourbon hang over, its cool
“Let It Be Me”, is will smash you in the gut if you have ever had that self loathing insecurity of love.  You’ve had it, but you hide it in auto tune or a blunt.  Face it and you get this. Killah, begging for reassurance.
Best track here my friends, if you have the nerve to listen to it.
This music will not get you pumped for a night out, its not going to make you ‘think’ or any other redundant lame cliche’.  The lyrics are sung to be listened to.  They’re telling stories, consider this a Kindle for your ears or something.
Neil kicks ass, I’d totally whip my unmentionables at him.. just not sure why.
Way to Go Mr D.
