6. Somewhere In Your Heart – Frank Sinatra – Could Frank make anything sound good? Sure. Except this.
7. Umm Hmmm – Erykah Badu – It ois not that everything on Amerykah sucked. This didn’t But it is a mess and the beat is too truncated and all over the place.
8. On Melancholy Hill – Gorillaz – Really? Sucked live.
9. Anything At All – Dafni – Lovely lo-fi melodiousness from an album of the year.
10. Wish I Could Forget – The weepies – I love the way the way the chick sings back up, but I also wish Ryan and Mandy were covering it.
11. Cmon Every Beatvox – Big Audio Dynamite – Last seen teaching Gorillaz a thing or two. Here they are covering Eddie Cochran, never a bad way to spend your summer.
12. Liking You – Americans In France – Arty.
13. El Duro – Don Omar and Kendo Kaponni – A touch slow for reggaeton but the rap is excellent: really rolls those r’s.
14. Heaven On Earth – Brittney Spears – Sexy in an old fashioned way.
15.Ain’t Nothing Like You – Blac Rob – The brothers Key add hip hop to the mix.
16. Bellini: La Sonnanbula – Cecilia Bartoli – Is she a Mezzo? A soprano? Here she is a soprano.
17. Super Trooper – ABBA – Sublime pop moogified magic.
18. The Smidge – The Hold Steady – Sounds like “National Ransom” -all these rock blues work outs sound the same and they all suck.
19. Piove – Jovanotti – Italian rapping, very melodic, huge on the Mediterranean.
