Miracles Of Modern Science “MR2”: What I Am Listening To Right This Minute -by Iman Lababedi

So what’s with all this Ivy League bands shit coming down? Elvis Presley drove a truck for fucks sake. Still, let’s not hold privilege against the indie weirdos. Let’s hold naming themselves after a paraphrase of a  Thomas Dolby album against the indie weirdos.
No wait. Let’s not do that either.
“MR2” is great on the edges, where the strings take over and a little meh-y in the middle, mainly because I am not thrilled by the lead singer (I may be later, it can take me awhile to warm up).
The PR folks said Miracles Of Modern Science is: “how a Civil War string band might have imagined the music of the far-distant 1980s, or how Devo might have entertained at a Lincoln benefit”. Which reads a lot smarter than it is and is still spottily on the money.
I like “MR2” lots, and I will like em a lot more once I get past the singer. Oh, and apparently they kill live.
