My Fave Tracks, Thursday September 9th, 2010 by Iman Lababedi

1. The Comet Song – Bjork – This is a song for a kids show? Sure I love it. The cartoon is about fat pieces of blubber or something and the sound is simple and otherworldly and more an idea than a song. Or it would be in somebody elses hands. In Bjork’s hands it is weirdly awesomeness in its epic whateverisms.
2. Include Me Out – Robyn – Didja read the Village Voice dis of Robyn? Whatever, but I make this the 11th great song in 11 attempts.
3. Stone Free – Jimi Hendrix – I thought it was dated but if the KING OF THE FREE WORLD is down with dissing those squares in the GOP, who talk to Bam like he’s a dog, who am I to disagree?
4. Hope Child – Free Energy – Last band I caught opening for Titus was Cloud Nothings, the band before that? Real Estate. So Free Energy will be in good company.
5. Nightcall – Kavinsky
6. Untitled – Read Estate – Impressive song.
7. Static On the Wire (RAC Remix) – Holy Ghost! – Is this like disco or something.
8. Big Wave – Jenny And Johnny – yeah but a song does not an album make. Simore told me there was another goodie but I can’t remember what it’s called.
9. Pepper – Hesta Prynn
10. Free Energy – Free Energy – I like it, I’ll buy it, and I’ll give it 5.
