Bobby Vinton On Leaving Love by Helen Bach

Isn’t it funnny how different things are now?

Case in point ‘Take Good Care of My Baby”, a Bobby Vinton classic.

Bobby will not kick your ass in the alley for taking his girl. On the contrary he is handing her over with a tip book of how to keep her.

A man who acknowledges hes fucked up a great thing and in the spirit of true love is willing to sacrifice his own peace for the girl that got away. I personally wonder what made him ‘be untrue’ in the first place but I wouldn’t ask.

Written as a self help manual on this woman who obviously has crushed him, Vinton focuses on making sure shes in good hands. “make rainbows all around her , don’t let her see a cloudy sky”.

“If you discover you don’t really love her send my baby back home to me”, is a beautiful yet self depreciating phrase but it also shows that the girl has no say. Dude seriously Ill take her back.

What do I think?

I think this man made a mistake.I think that his love is so true and so deep that he knows in his heart she will be back. So in preparation of this he’s making sure he himself is ready to receive her for the second chance. He wont let go, and he doesn’t have to.
