The Pogues have announced that the dates in the UK this Christmas will be their last CHRISTMAS dates ever.
Which suggests that there will a St. Patty’s Day concert (at the Nokia?) in 2011 and that it will be the last time we see this terrific old time party band and therefore, particularly if it is in Nokia, this is an absolute must see.
The problem with the Pogues at Roseland was Roseland. The place has no site lines whatsoever and the drunken Kiss me I’m Irish brigade singing “Whiskey whiskey Irish Whiskey” and throwing up on the dance floor make for a, how you say, unique setting.
Nokia, however, has GA seating and if this is the last date ever, I will, indeed be there.
