I am reading a “from the studio” interview 500 word quasi-interview with Kid Rock in Rolling Stone and I am thinking, you know, even for RS, this is some heavy duty face time. The writer and Kid start in the studio where Kid singsalong to the album and ends up in Kid’s basement drinking shots of whiskey while Kid sings “Tumbling Dice” to the kid.
Impressive.
Wondered who the writer was? Kiss ass Austin Scaggs?
How about Gus Wenner.
Yup, Janns 25 year old kid writing for daddy’s magazine. The article is nothing much (it reads as though any spontaniety has been edited out of it: editors should edit less).
When last heard from Gus was fronting a band with Ellen Barkin’s kid, and, audaciously enough, naming themselves after the great Postcard band of the early 1980s, Josef K.
No video for them (though lots for the real Josef K who are well worth checking out) so they are saved from my ridicule which, I am relatively certain, they’d have deserved.
Meanwhile? Kafka and half the bands in Scotland are doing cartwheels.
