1. First and foremost they have been signed to Geoff Barrows’ Invada records
2. Geoff Barrows is part of Portishead and Beak.
3. I’ve been gagging for a new Portishead record since last years “Chase The Tear” -all in vain.
4. And am off to see Beak at Bowery Ballroom next Friday.
5. Listening to the Canadian bands excellent genre twirling “Van Tan” I totally get what Barrows loves about em. It reminds me of a sophisticated Americans In France: art damaged but not too art damaged, it throttles a rhythm before driving off a cliff in slo mo.
6. There is a daytrotter session I haven’t downloaded yet but will and so should you.
7. I hope they are opening for Beak.
