People ask me why do I always pick on Dave Grohl. It is a good question but I have a clear and consistent answer: because he is a sniveling little shit and Kurt Cobain would puke on him if Kurt was still with us.
Here is Dave discussing Nirvana’s induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the sort of meaningless private institution of competition and self-satisfaction Kurt would have hated with every fiber of his being: “For once… I’m speechless. From the basements, to the dingy clubs, to the broken down vans, to… the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“I’d like to thank the committee not only for this induction, but also for recognizing Nirvana for what we were: pure rock and roll. Most of all, thank you to all of the fans that have supported rock and roll throughout the years, and to (frontman) Kurt (Cobain) and (bassist) Krist (Novoselic), without whom I would not be here today.”
“This is a great honor. Thank you to the people who nominated and voted for us. Thank you most of all to Kurt Cobain. And to everyone who’s kept rock music going strong for 60 years and counting.”
From the basements to the dingy clubs to the broken down vans to the Rock And roll Hall Of Fame… has there ever been a lousier litany in rock history, the smirking cretinism of Grohl’s careerism isn’t worth disrespecting. I’ve never bought Grohl with Foo Fighters as some sort of epitome of rock and roll aesthetics, Foo Fighters are to rock and roll what Rolling Stone magazine is to rock and roll, much better in theory than in practice. In practice Foo Fighters are a complete bore.
And Grohl speechless because Jann Wenner got him inducted? You’re joking me, right? The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is a great big joke. What a repulsive , embarrassing bunch of fools, they don’t give rock and roll a bad name, they give human beings a bad name.
This is what Grohl is so happy about.
You see Westerberg’s big mistake was that he never played the show, or inducted anybody. That’s where he went wrong.
As for Grohl, he deserves inducting in the ass kissing Hall Of Fame.
