At the Bloomfest, I was also able to see the electro-pop-dance group Bullet and Snowfox who did a powerful set full of energy driven by the sexy moves of the singer Kristen Wagner. At first, their songs did not completely do it for me but their aggressive beats, the dark atmosphere of their sound, and Kristen’s fun dance were quite impressive.
Bullet and Snowfox was born when Kristen Wagner and Josh Shapiro met in a café in West Hollywood in 2008 and decided to start their own indie band. They complete each other perfectly since Kristen writes the lyrics and Josh the music. On Saturday they were also joined by 2 other musicians on drums and electric guitar.
It’s electro high energy, hard pop, sometimes on the punk rock side, sometimes more on the dance side, a sort of Blondie (she is a big fan) meets Siouxsie and the Banshees meets… sorry, I don’t have all the references for this kind of music, but they also mention Garbage, The Ting Tings among others on their myspace page.
