Yup, that’s what they used to call God’s gift to muzak, the incomparable brother sister team of Richard and Karen Carpenter.
There is a new biography about Karen by Randy L. Schmidt “Little Girl Blue” and James Gavin in the new York Times review claims it adds the third dimension to her story though anybody who has listened to this ‘fragile’ (a word that comes up a lot) woman singer knew what they were dealing with.
She died from aneroxia -starved herself to death.
Maybe we are better off left with her music and memories…
