So Fall Out Boy performed at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show this year, and since I didn’t care enough to sit around to watch the show, I was glad that someone posted the band’s performance on the Internet. I had heard about it, but was anxious to actually watch. I’m not a big fan of the whole scene of this fashion show, with girls my age crying because they don’t look like them because they aren’t skinny/pretty/whatever enough, and guys watching the show to pretend they get any action. Regardless, it’s a mess for teenagers and so i wanted to cut through the lameness to just see the band.
They performed “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark” and it was phenomenal. I swear that Patrick’s voice gets better and better every day. That man is a powerhouse and he has so much energy and talent. It was so nice to see them up there in front of such a massive audience because it truly is the recognition they deserve. The band was spot-on, clearly seasoned from over a decade of experience. This new hit is a perfect crowd pleaser and, consequentially, a good song for a runway.
Taylor Swift partook in the song as well…ew. First off, she’s pretending she’s a model on the runway and that’s a big no because that’s pretty arrogant. She also can’t sing as it is and for her to ruin a Fall Out Boy song right in front of the band is humiliating. She was just awful.
Overall, it was a freakin’ awesome performance, with Patrick pushing his voice into sheer perfection and just how truly polished and flawless the band has become. Good job, boys.
