Taylor Swift Follow-Up “Speak Now” Released October 25th

Two years after the fact, Taylor Swift readies herself for the release of the Fearless follow-up Speak Now dropping october 25th. A single “Mine” will be here before the end of August.
As reported by Billboard from Taylor’s Ustream with fans yesterday, “Mine” is about how her tendency “to run from love…Every really direct example of love that I’ve had in front of me has ended in goodbye and has ended in breakups and things like that. So I think I’ve developed this pattern of sort of running away when it comes time to fall in love. This song is sort of about finding the exception to that.” Or if you prefer, business as usual.

Perhaps more problematic, Taylor wrote all 14 songs herself instead of co-writing with her stable of country pros. Taylor is an excellent writer, but all of them? “It didn’t really happen on purpose. I’d get my best ideas at 3 am in Arkansas when I didn’t have any co-writers around, so I would just finish it.” Swift said the same thing happened in New York, Boston and Nashville. It just so happened that the songs that made the cut on the album were the ones I wrote myself, so, wish me luck!”

The good news? Nathan Chapman, her “longtime collaborator” is back, for album three.

I think it will be great, I think it will be multi-platinum and I think it won”t equal Fearless.
