The Who’s drummer Keith Moon was the ultimate rock God. He is what every cliche ‘party like a rock star’ image was derived from. He worked hard he played too hard and he died at a very young age in 1978.
Finally someone realized what an untapped hero he is and now work has begun on a film of his life. On board for this is Who leader Roger Daltry.
“The Keith Moon project is one close to my heart,” says Daltrey, “so I am excited to reinvigorate it and grateful to Wendy [Rutland], Toby [Moores] and Da Vinci for their enthusiastic support.”
“I am a massive Who fan and consider Keith Moon to be the greatest rock drummer of all time,” added Da Vinci’s Wendy Rutland. “I could feel Roger’s passion and detailed perspective for this unique story after our first phone call. We are excited to be topping up our deal with Exclusive, and look forward to growing the relationship.”
It’s not going to come quick though, they’re actually still looking for a writer. But luckily with Daltrey on board there will be a bit of credibility. Who on Earth is going to portray these guys anyway?
In additional Who news there is the infamous Tommy reissue- and quite a few options of them. From simple vinyl to the super deluxe version. Anything for a buck, ay?
Stay tuned on this one- I’m pretty sure the media will be blazing over it as it progresses. Then again will it sink to online streaming as the Hendrix biopic did? Is there any market for this nostalgia anymore?
