The Jonas Brothers Call It A Day

too old to rock and roll

By now you have heard that former teen swooners The Jonas Brothers have decided to quit the biz.  See they cant break up or it would make for awkward holiday gatherings.

The band had a mega following right up there with N’Sync and New Kids On The Block.  Teenage girls lost their lunch waiting for them to visit their town and every shop had a JoBro pillowcase, t-shirt or lunch box. The world needs bands like this- they help kids grow up and unfortunately leave a legacy of bubblegum music.

So what went down?  Aside from being a bit more adult than fashionable and the marriage/kid stuff there was inner strife as well.  Nick Jonas took to Good Morning America to explain.

“I was actually the one that initiated the conversation,” Nick said on GMA. “You know, we’re family first and that’s always been our main priority and so honesty within what we do as a group was really important. I came to the table with the guys just before we were prepping to leave for tour and I shared my heart with them, my feelings. I think in a nutshell I said, ‘Look, I feel like we’ve had some complications with the new group for a long time without addressing them. I think this train will fall off the tracks without really getting real about some of the concerns and some of the limitations we may feel as individuals.'”

Bring on the next boy band..

In other words they simply grew up.  Older brother Joe left fans with the promise of a thank you gift, considering they will not release a ‘final album’

“The album will actually not be completed, but we will be doing something for our fans,” Kevin said. “They have traveled with us and been with us for so many years that we did not want to just leave them without giving them back something. So what we’ve done is we’re gonna release four of the unreleased songs from the album. The rest of the album will be never released… we put together the live tracks from last summer tour, about 10 songs, so we’ll actually be giving that to our fan club members as a gift.”
